          The Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano was installed as Fifth Bishop of Bridgeport on September 19, 2013 at St. Theresa Church in Trumbull. From the time he arrived in the Diocese, Bishop Caggiano has made a priority the active engagement of all the faithful in the great project of the New Evangelization.

          It was in that spirit that he convoked the 4th Synod of the Diocese of Bridgeport in 2014 which sought to discern ways in which the local Church might empower youth, build up the community of faith, foster evangelical outreach, and promote works of charity and justice.

          Bishop Caggiano believes strongly in the crucial role that priests have in the lives of the faithful as teachers of the faith, as pastors who help people live in loving fidelity to the truth of Christ, and leaders in the Church who empower the faithful by serving them and sanctifying them through the administration of the sacraments.
