          Performances for Any Setting

          Whether onstage at your jazz festival, in your busy restaurant, or in your living room, I will play for your guests with heart, swing, intelligence and creativity.

          It’s best if there is a tuned acoustic piano or a digital piano on site, but I can also bring my own trusty digital piano.

          Born in Santa Monica, California, and growing up primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area, Debbie found herself at the piano when she was five.

        1. A veteran of the San Francisco Bay Area jazz scene, Debbie Poryes is a bop-oriented acoustic pianist whose melodic and introspective playing has been influenced.

I’m happy to play and sing or just play solo piano from my large repertoire of jazz tunes (Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Bill Evans, etc.), bossa novas (Antonio Carlos Jobim), the American Songbook (George Gerswhin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Hoagy Carmichael, etc.), modern jazz (Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett, etc.) and even some 60s pop (Burt Bacharach, Joni Mitchell, Beatles).

           

          Solo or Combo

          I can also add an acoustic bass player or sax player to make a duo. Or you can decide you want to have bass and drums for a classic jazz trio, with my own arrangements.

          Or you can have it all with a quartet! You can hear tracks from some of my CDs wit
