Dr.
Georgia Costello was born in Herrin, Ill. She grew up in Sesser, Ill., and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and later East St. Louis. She attended three years of high school at East St. Louis before graduating from Belleville West in 1967.
She earned an Associates Degree from Belleville Area College and later a BS from McKendree College in 1977.
Costello, who was born in a small farming community in Franklin County, Ill., called Sesser, transferred from East St. Louis Senior High to.
Later she attended Southern Illinois University earning first an MA in 1984 and then a Doctorate in 2007. She served as a physical education and health teacher, then became Dean of Students, and later Principal in the Belleville Elementary School District #118, and was an Assistant Superintendent of St.
